You all encouraged me, inspire me and motivate me to be a better mom, wife, friend and blogger. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would have many friends {yes, you are my friends} all around the country. For me, this blog has been a place to write what is on my heart, start to heal from my Dad's death and really learn more about myself and this crazy journey of motherhood. In the craziness and chaos of my life it has been a place of rest for me. I am so thankful for all of you. Every comment and every email is a blessing.
It has been awhile since I have done a giveaway and my goodness you all deserve something for coming back day in and day out to this little ole' blog. So, one of my favorite necklaces of all time is made by Allora Handmade and since I wouldn't giveaway something I wouldn't wear myself I thought I would give one fabulous reader a pair of these adorable Pink Rosette Earrings and a $10 Starbucks Card!

I am so thankful for where we live. We've lived in our house for 2 years now but it seems like every other day we're making it feel more like our home... And the fact that there are palm trees in our yard is amazing! I'll never get sick of looking at them, especially since I come from the land of snow and cheese! Love your blog :) i'm definitely a follower :)

It's a strange story of what I have been grateful about lately. Even as a kid, I hated living at one place for too long. Every two years I wished for new friends, new school, a new town, new experiences and always thought I would study abroad. I applied to many scholarships and I don't know how and why but I always got placed on the waiting lists, never got a scholarship. The last few years I was depressed about living in this country my whole life - 25 years in India is too much for one life I thought. I hated each day, I hated everything about my life - I dreamt only of new lands, new cultures.
I still would love to travel but I am no more the person who wakes up each morning hating everything about her life. I don't know how this transition happened and it truly surprises me that now I feel such gratitude for being rooted here, to my native land. I feel a rush of gratitude to be living with my parents, in the same house, to have meals with them everyday. I am thankful for this - thankful for this beautiful, beautiful life. Maybe I will travel someday but right now, I am so in love with everything that surrounds me, the same lake, the same people in the neighbourhood, the same friends and the same bedroom :) Bliss!
Love,
Mubin,
