This Boy...

Makes a Friday family game night...

Adorable...

Hilarious...

and

everything in between

He has a way about him that you just can't help but love. Seriously, you just want to eat him up. The things that come out of this boys mouth are hilarious. He brings a light heartedness, say-whatcha-think, unedited awesomeness to our family that we so need.
Tonight, as all of us were sitting in a circle with those silly cards on all of our heads
I couldn't help but be amazed at the way the Lord has given me three boys all with different styles and personalities. Yet, they are all perfect for our family.

Enjoy your families this weekend. Spend time playing games, being silly and just loving on each other. That's what life is all about, right?!
Happy Friday, Friends!

Gettin Lit {Sorta}

While most of you were out watching football, at basketball games or doing whatever most people without three children do, I was at home getting ready to start my 2013 cleaning adventure. My mom called and asked me if I wanted to deep clean the house since the older boys and hubby were at the UD game and it would just be Cole and I. If you know me at all, you would now I immediately said, "booyah". Actually, Cole said that but I agreed with him.

So, my mom and I are doing work on my house laughing, talking, listening to Barney. You know, a typical crazy Saturday night at the Woodall home. I come up with a genius idea to light our new candles that I got from the boys for Christmas. My mom looked at me and said, "I wouldn't light a candle while we're still cleaning". I kindly say "oh stop, it's fine."

I have the WORST memory ever. So, of course, I forgot that a my sugar cookie candle is burning. Mom and I are talking and cleaning the sink when I start smelling something burning.  All of a sudden I realize my hair is on fire. Like flames on fire. I start running in place smacking my head trying to get the fire out.

Side note: if you know my mom you know she is the funniest, kindest, most generous woman you will ever meet BUT she is the worst to have with you if a crisis (like your hair catching on fire) should occur.

Keep in mind we are in the bathroom by the sink and all we have to do is pour water on my head. She starts running in place cussing. What? Why is she cussing? Why is she running in place? I have no idea. Between me screaming and trying to save my hair, my mom doing whatever she was doing and Cole in his rain boots with a sword yelling. "save the world" it was pretty much a freak show.

The good news is only a little chunk of my hair was singed off my head. It could have been so much worse. Oh mercy my mom and I laughed until we were crying. I have looked in the mirror about 50 times tonight to make sure I am not bald and I have seen my mom laugh the most I have seen her laugh in a long time. So, I guess it was worth it.

Moral of the story: Whether you are 3 or 32 listen to your mother. She's always right!!!

What's your word for 2013?

What will your word be for 2013? Sometimes a single word can change everything. When I learned about the concept of " Word of the Year", I took it to heart. I am not one to make resolutions because I tend to break them within 24 hours. So, this would be good for me. One single word that would be my theme for 2013.

My word for 2013 is GRACE. Why, you ask? I want to give myself more of it. I want to pour it out on my boys and husband. I want to learn to rest in it, admitting that I am not good enough, trusting that His grace covers the rest.
Grace is what Christ gives us- and what we, in turn, can give each other. It's kindness, hope, opti
mism, humility, forgiveness, beauty, respect and love. It's what Christ shows me moment to moment. This year will be the year I take hold of and exercise it in every area of my life.
