Individually Perfect.

Happy Monday, Lovelies!
Today didn't start out like I had planned.
.... I overslept
... locked my keys in my car
.... and that was all before 7:30
Thankfully, this day has gotten better with each passing moment.
Last week my sweet Mason started preschool and can I just tell you
this kid can make me laugh more than anyone.
I can be having the worst of days or have locked my keys in my car and this
hilarious, carefree, adorable, lovable, loud, crazy adorable little man can in an instant
brighten up my whole world.

Is he not the cutest little boy ever?
Of all my boys he is the one who I can wait to see
who he becomes. The sky is the limit for this boy.

He has this 'thing' about him.
If you have spent 2 minutes with the kid you can't help but
love him. Maybe it's the blonde curls or the fact that he wants to make people laugh.

I am amazed at the way the Lord has given me three boys all with different
styles and personalities.  Yet they are all perfect for our family.
Tell me about your kids?
Are they all alike or are they each as crazy different as mine?

First Grade is Calling.

My sweet boy. It's time.
We have prayed for a place, a school where we could call home for you,
while your away from home.
We found it last year.
Thankful that when you walk in the doors
I believe with all that is in me that you will learn, laugh and be loved on by some of the sweetest teachers I know.

I need you to stop growing. I can remember this time last year and my stomach was in knots. I was nervous for you. I felt like it was my first day of school all over again.
I thought this time would be different.
 Oh sweetie it's not.
I knew this day was coming. You are more than ready.
I am not.

Wasn't it just a minute ago that I was rocking you to sleep.
Jumping up and down when you said your first words.
I feel like I simply blinked and here we are.
Oh my sweet boy you make my heart smile.

I am so proud of you and I am so thankful
for the boy that you have become.
I have seen you grow leaps and bounds this summer.
I know you will be great.
I know that you will learn a lot.
I know that you will make so many new friends
and enjoy all of your old friends.
I know you will be forming life long friendships
and I am so thankful.

Please know, my sweet boy.
I will be praying.
I will be waiting to pick you up as soon as the bells rings.
Welcome to first grade my love.

Please Return.

Have any of you seen my almost perfect first born little man?

You know the one who always is trying to please everyone around him. The one who wakes up with a smile on his face jumps out of bed just to be 'first' at school. Have you seen him? Because someone has switched him for a kid who REFUSES to get up and going in the morning.

I have no clue what has transpired in the past week but I am 100% dumbfounded. I am at a complete loss. I think this has been what older, more seasoned moms have told me would happen. "There will come a day when you think you know how your kids respond, what they love, how they communicate and then the next day it will be completely different." This is my 'next day'. I don't like it. I want my yesterday back. PPPlease!

Here are some of the things that have been said in the wee early mornings over the past week.

1. My belly hurts.
2. I don't like the way my socks feel.
3. These pants are too tight.
4. What if my belly hurts in school?
5. Do you think it's just a bunch of poop?
6. I don't like the way this shirt feels on my skin.
7. I am not going to school.
8. If you make me go then I will go with just my underwear on.
9. My knee cap is starting to hurt when I walk.
10. {limping} My ankle is broke. I can't even walk on it.

Although, these may not seem that big of a deal please feel free to add in the tears, the holding the belly, knee, ankle and there you have the last 6 mornings. Praying this is just a little phase he is going through. He is a great little man and I just want to make his morning GREAT and easy before he heads out the door. His teacher said he always does awesome in class and is as happy as can be.

Am I being played? Has the drama of the morning already began? I thought this ONLY happened with girls. I have ALL boys this is the easy part for me. Right? So, to all you moms with school aged kids has this ever happened to you? Please tell me it will all be perfect tomorrow morning!

I don't want to forget...

How excited you were when you woke up this morning.
Your first big boy field trip. You were elated that
you got to ride on the bus.

I don't want to forget
... your first group of school friends ...

... your Kindergarten teacher ...

... or how proud I was to see you in your element ...

In the next 12 years you will have tons of field trips, lots of life long friends and amazing teachers. My prayer for you my sweet boy is that you will enjoy every moment and that I will never forget how sweet, thoughtful, respectful, funny, silly, and loving you are at this very moment.  Jeremiah 29: 11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

How to keep off the 7-10lb weight gain this Holiday Season

Happy Monday, friends! Did you know that many people gain anywhere from 7-10 lbs over the holidays (from Halloween through New Years)?? I k...
