The Shape of Exercise

We all know how difficult it is to stay in shape and find time to exercise -- especially for us mommas who are crazy busy running from activity to activity or from one diaper change to the next.  How has your exercise or lack of exercise been going lately? For me, I have noticed a 'lack of'. Which means lack of discipline, lack of energy, lack of patience... I could go on and on. I continue to remind myself that although it isn't the number 1 priority in my life it really does have to be a priority. I can't put it on the back burner or say I will do it or start doing it tomorrow. I need to carve out the time today. 

I was quickly reminded of this tonight. I stepped outside of my warm cozy house and into the cold rain. All the while driving I kept making a list about what all I needed to get done and why I shouldn't be taking this hour to work out for myself. Have you ever done this? I pulled in the parking lot turned off my car and ran in the rain to my class. Within five minutes I felt like a new woman. My to-do list went out the window and I was able to focus on myself, get lost in the dancing and simply take some time to get rejuvenated. I left feeling thankful and energized. 

It truly is about deciding that you deserve the best that you can be. Make the decision to settle for nothing less. Why? Your kids deserve it, your spouse deserves it and most importantly you deserve it. What are you doing to get moving? 

Stop making excuses and Get Moving!

How was you weekend? Mine was crazy but a good crazy. Lots of soccer games, fabulous time with some of my very favorite girlfriends and a little Martha Stewart action. Getting ready for the Epic photo shoot that took place tonight. It was just what I had hoped for... crazy, chaotic, tears, laughing and in the end Epic pictures were taken. {can't wait for you to see them} I wanted to get a new outfit since the boys were having their picture taken. {I know... it's not about me, right?} I just have to say I bought a pair of jeggings and LOVE them. {I will be talking about them again, don't you worry.}

Isn't it funny how as a teenager you are always comparing yourself to other girls? Hm. We  I still can struggle with that same thing. I remember the big thing was having huge ta ta's. Ugh, I was envious of some of my very best friends who somehow were "blessed" in like the 5th grade. I maybe tried to put some tissues in my bra. I maybe tried to stuff a sock or two in there and I maybe, just maybe, found my moms extremely padded bra and wore it to school.

I can joke about it now, because sometime in my late teens/early twenties all of the ta ta envy went away and I stopped caring. However, since having three sweet little men suck the life out of me, literally, I have been in need of a boost. You know something to help the girls not look like empty tube socks. Saggy just doesn't do it for me. I got a phone call from my sister who told me to get myself to the mall immediately. So, of course I call my mom/shopping fashionista and off we go.

Oh. My. 

Friends I found the one who gets to take care of my girls for years to come. No more empty tube socks for this girl. It's like a boob job without all the hundred dollars bills being spent. Where did I get it you ask? Where else? Victoria Secret. Did I mention I hate spending money on bras. This one is totally worth it. There are many different bras but there is only one known as the Miraculous Plunge. Seriously, it's craziness. 

The truth is I would wear my sports bra everywhere if I could. On days I can't I am proud to have found a fabulous gem. Can you refer to a bra as a gem? All-well.  If you see me, please don't be envious {you will be} just remember the true story. I am as flat as a pancake, loving it and proud as ever to be a part of the fabulous A class! 

As you already know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Do your part. Get Involved. Go Pink. Please remember early detection is your best weapon in fighting this terrible disease. What are you doing to make a difference in this fight? 

Epic Craftiness... if I do say so myself.

How was your weekend? They always go by so fast it's crazy. I found myself doing lots of laundry. Real quick... do you ever notice how when you do the laundry there is ALWAYS like 10 socks that are missing their partner. Seriously, where do these things go? I feel like my dryer eats them or my boys go in and sneak them out of the dryer just because they know it drives me nutso. 

So, we have an EPIC photo shoot coming up here at our castle. For some reason I have only had the boys pictures "professionally" done one time. That was done a while ago by my dear friend Kate. {She's an awesome women! Check our her blog}  After I had them done I fell in love with getting them done {or so I thought}. So, my cousin started up a photography business and is going to take pictures of my boys for their birthday. M turns 4 in Oct, B turns 6 in Nov and  sweet Baby C turns 1 in Dec. We are setting up a ice cream party photo shoot. Friends {I do consider you all friends by the way} we are having major props in this photo shoot. 

Which brings me to one of my many crafty props I am {attempting} to make. Since we are doing two different shoots {did I mention that?} I have to cut some corners so I can buy us all new outfits for the Family Shoot. 

I went to Jo Anne Fabric's. I was a complete fish out of water but the workers were gracious and helped me. I am pretty sure they just felt bad for me! Okay, you know how on Etsy you see the fabric banners? Guess who is making  her own? Yep. This girl.

Here is what I bought:

~Twine

~ Fabric

~ Triangle {I don't do good with cutting straight lines. I needed some guidance hence the triangle}

~ Scissors

~ Double-sided tape

Here is how I made the fabric banner masterpiece....

WARNING: These directions aren't correct craftiness grammer.
~ Turned the fabric over. Traced the triangle onto the fabric.
~ Cut out each triangle.
~ Used double- sided tape on triangle then folded it over on the twine
** If I had to do it over I would use fabric glue instead of the tape!

How cute is this? I made it for only $6.47! Now for the next item of business... Party Hats. Can't wait for the photo shoot. It's going to be EPIC my friends!! Do you have any fun ideas for the boys upcoming photo shoot?   

Yep, it's time.

Time for what you ask? That fabulous time of year where the windows are open, you can smell the pumpkin candle, leaves are starting to change colors, high school football is in full effect, the kids are settling into their back to school routine.... Oh and did I mention it's time for the FALL LINEUP! OK, so maybe this time of year I turn into a television addict. That's bad isn't it?

Crap.

So you think it's bad I maybe, kind of up my kids bed time so they are in bed and on their way to sweet dreams when my shows come on? I can't help it. I get sucked in with all the dancing, fat people, Mc Dreamy love fest that takes place during this special time of year. 

Sigh.

With that being said I will watch (please don't judge) and I will like every last second of it. For your viewing pleasure here it is....
